A closed Shell gas station and convenience store site at 5640 San Jose Blvd. in Lakewood could be redeveloped into a Starbucks Coffee Co. shop.

JEA is reviewing construction of a Starbucks at the site. Starbucks has a nearby inline store.

The company has been building stand-alone shops to replace its inline stores.

First Coast Energy LLP sold the property Dec. 18 to the Morgan Companies of Charlotte, North Carolina, for $875,000

Chick-fil-A near Lakewood

The city and the St. Johns River Water Management District are reviewing plans for Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A to build a restaurant at 3814 University Blvd. W., the site where Krispy Kreme closed in 2016.

Bowman Consulting Group of Sunrise is the civil engineer. Chick-fil-A intends to remove the 2,711-square-foot doughnut shop and build a 128-seat, almost 5,000-square-foot Chick-fil-A on the 1.28-acre site.

Plans show 112 seats inside and 16 on the patio.
