Restaurant Notes: L&L Hawaiian Grill to Baymeadows; Whataburger to Atlantic North and Oakleaf

Larry’s Giant Subs issued permit for Westside restaurant.

L&L Hawaiian Grill will open at 8380 Baymeadows Road, No. 4, in Centurion Square in the Baymeadows area.

It leased 1,610 square feet of space. Landlord International Management Co. expects it will open in December or January.

Focused on Hawaiian comfort food, L&L Hawaiian opened in 2017 in Argyle Village Shopping Center at southwest Blanding Boulevard and Interstate 295.

L&L Hawaiian is based in Honolulu and the Argyle store was the first East Coast franchise.

Menu items include barbecue chicken, pork with cabbage and Spam musubi and Spam saimin.

Whataburger to Atlantic North and Oakleaf

 The city issued mobility fee calculation and concurrency reservation certificates for Whataburger to build a 3,745-square-foot, 68-seat restaurant on 1.25 acres in Atlantic North at northwest Atlantic and Kernan boulevards.

Halff Associates Inc. is the civil engineer. Whataburger also plans a restaurant on 1.61 acres at northeast Old Middleburg Road South and Argyle Forest Boulevard in Oakleaf Corner.

Larry’s Giant Subs in Westside

The city issued a permit Oct. 27 for The Shrout Companies Inc. to build a 2,322-square-foot restaurant and drive-thru for Larry’s Giant Subs on 2.3 acres at 5857 Roosevelt Blvd. in West Jacksonville at a cost of $230,000.
