Averitt Express Inc. is expanding its Westside terminal.
The city is reviewing a permit application for D.F. Chase Inc. of Nashville to add a 32,460-square-foot warehouse to its existing cross-dock facility at a cost of $1.85 million.
In December 2017, the city approved construction of the Averitt Express truck terminal and office in West Jacksonville at 7200 Commonwealth Ave.
D.F. Chase Inc. of Nashville was the contractor for the $5 million construction job, comprising 56,440 square feet on almost 21 acres.
A spokesman said previously Averitt, based in Cookesville, Tennessee, was building the center to better provide domestic and international distribution of domestic freight and international cargo for its customers across the country.
