Emily Dawkins named Truist regional president in North Florida

Scott Keith will retire Sept. 30 after a 34-year banking career.

Truist Financial Corp. named Emily Dawkins regional president for its North Florida region.

Dawkins was capital markets originator. She assumed her new role as regional president on Sept. 7, succeeding Scott Keith, who will retire Sept. 30 after a 34-year banking career.

“Emily has built her career serving Jacksonville and the North Florida region by delivering solutions that help her business clients achieve their goals, making her well-suited to lead our team in the region,” said David Weaver, Truist chief commercial community banking officer, in a news release.

“For more than 30 years, Scott has been an active member of the North Florida banking community, and we wish him the best in his retirement.”

Regional presidents lead a local team of financial professionals that serve the company’s mix of clients, including business banking, commercial banking, middle market banking, not-for-profit/government banking and regional commercial real estate clients.

Dawkins has nearly 20 years of banking experience. She was a capital markets originator and a middle market relationship manager in North Florida for Truist predecessor SunTrust Bank.

Dawkins has served on the boards of the Association of Corporate Growth, Junior League of Jacksonville and The Cathedral School. She is also is involved with the United Way resource management team.

Keith, a 34-year banking veteran, was named North Florida regional president in December 2019 upon the closing of the merger of equals between BB&T Corp. and SunTrust Banks Inc. He has held leadership roles in his career, including regional president for the North and Central Florida region at BB&T since 2010. Keith joined BB&T in 2005 as the Jacksonville market president.
