An affiliate of Publix Super Markets Inc. acquired Sawgrass Village, a shopping center along Florida A1A in Ponte Vedra Beach, according to St. Johns County records.

A deed filed Sept. 16 shows Publix affiliate PSM Sawgrass LLC bought the property for $82 million.

The 140,220-square-foot center was owned by affiliates of Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co. since the insurance company foreclosed on the property in 2010.

Besides Publix, other stores in the center include a CVS pharmacy and ABC Fine Wine & Spirits.

The shopping center underwent a renovation in phases that started in 2015.

Lakeland-based Publix operated 1,293 supermarkets in seven states at the end of 2021, with the majority of them leased, according to its annual report.

The company owned the building and land at 369 locations. It owned the building but leased the land at 79 other stores, according to its annual report.
