V Pizza + Tap Garden opened its relocated Fleming Island restaurant Aug. 7.
It is new construction on 1.02 acres at 4477 U.S. 17.
The Fleming Island store previously was about 1.5 miles away at 1605 County Road 220.
Owners estimated in June 2022 that it would cost $3 million to construct the 6,000-square-foot building. Urban Partners was the contractor.
The restaurant has an inside and outdoor bar with a large patio. There is a yard where children can play and adults can relax.
Since opening in San Marco in 2014, there are now 12 V Pizza locations from North Carolina to Orlando. A St. Augustine location will be the next to open, according to the restaurant’s website.
Each V Pizza, except for the St. Simons Island and Fernandina Beach locations, are two restaurants in one. There is the food side and the bar side. Each bar has its own name and specializes in craft cocktails.
Pizzas are baked for 60 to 90 seconds in 900-degree wood-fired brick ovens. The mozzarella cheese is imported from Italy. They use organic Italian 00flour.
Besides pizza, the menu includes wings, sandwiches, salads, pasta and calzones and strombolis.
The Fleming Island location is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.
