W.W. Gay Mechanical Contractor Inc. announced  it will cut the ribbon at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 31 to open its new building at 524 Stockton St. in Northwest Jacksonville.

The two-story, 49,665-square-foot, $11 million building’s site is nearly 4 acres, replacing the old headquarters.

“Moving into this new facility is about embracing a future filled with possibilities and opportunities and signifies a step forward in our evolution as a company. It’s a reminder that growth is constant and embracing change is key to staying ahead in today’s dynamic business landscape,” Paul Jones, CEO of W. W. Gay, said in a news release.

Auld & White Constructors LLC is the contractor. Kasper architects + associates Inc. is the architect.

In April 2022, City Council approved a $500,000 grant and a $700,000 property tax rebate for the project.

The release said Aug. 31 is a symbolic date in W. W. Gay’s history. It was not only the date of the fire that destroyed their original building in 2020, but it was also when they officially broke ground on the new building last year.

Founded in 1962, W.W. Gay has 1,300 employees and clients in industries including commercial, health care, government, industrial and hospitality.
