Kim Wheeler named to new VP role at JEA

The JEA veteran will oversee air and lab testing, preventative maintenance and more.

A JEA veteran with more than 30 years of experience with the city-owned utility has been promoted to the newly created position of vice president of operations support.

Kim Wheeler will lead the operation of systems and processes that support JEA’s electric, water and wastewater operations, according to an April 8 news release. She will report to Chief Operating Officer Raynetta Curry Marshall.

Wheeler assumed her new role April 8. Her annual salary is $235,000. 

Areas that Wheeler will oversee include customer meters, air and laboratory testing, preventative maintenance, vegetation management and asset management. 

She has served in several roles at JEA over the past 34 years, including manager of transmission and distribution, account executive, professional engineer and distribution engineer.

Wheeler has a bachelor’s in electrical engineering from the University of Florida.
