Panda Express joining Ortega Park

The city issued a permit May 8 for tenant improvements in Units 401-402 at the Roosevelt Boulevard shopping center.

Panda Express Chinese Kitchen will build-out in Ortega Park at a project cost of $869,519.

The city issued a permit May 8 for Gerald N. Candito Construction Corp. of Acworth, Georgia, to make tenant improvements to 2,328 square feet of space in Units 401-402. 

The structure faces Roosevelt Boulevard. Metro Diner and Chase Bank are in other corners of the multitenant building.

Panda Express will have 52 indoor seats in the restaurant, whose address is 4495 Roosevelt Blvd. Ortega Park is the former Roosevelt Square shopping center in West Jacksonville. Publix Super Markets Inc. is an anchor retailer.

The Panda Express Chinese Kitchen in Ortega Park will face Roosevelt Boulevard.

Cuhaci & Peterson of Maitland is the architect and engineer for the Panda Express project.

Atlanta-based Ortega Park LLLP owns Ortega Park and has been redeveloping it, including the addition of restaurants.

Franklin Street is the real estate company that represents the landlord.

PandaExpress.com shows 17 locations in Jacksonville, Orange Park, Saint Johns, St. Augustine and Yulee.

Panda Restaurant Group Inc., based in Rosemead, California, has more than 2,500 locations in the U.S. and has a presence in 11 international countries.

Its largest concentration is 621 restaurants in California and 329 in Texas. It has 130 in Florida.
