Jacksonville-based burger restaurant M Shack can build out its space in the SilverLeaf community after St. Johns County issued a permit July 17 for the $650,000 project.
Developer Chet Skinner confirmed Jan. 23 that the restaurant signed a lease for a 3,300-square-foot space in the master-planned community’s Publix-anchored shopping center.
Other signed tenants in the plaza, he said, include Avalon Nails, Club Pilates, SoFresh and UPS, with SoFresh being issued a build-out permit April 4 at an estimated cost of $374,204.
Dunkin’ and Fifth Third Bank are planned as outparcels at the shopping center north of SilverLeaf Parkway and west of St. Johns Parkway, near the age-restricted Reverie at TrailMark community.
Publix opened its 55,700-square-foot store March 26.
In addition to burgers, M Shack’s menu features chicken dishes, hot dogs, salads and milkshakes.
The restaurant is part of Jacksonville-based Medure Brothers Culinary Concepts, founded by chefs Matthew and David Medure.
At its peak, M Shack operated four locations, including in St. Johns Town Center, Atlantic Beach and Riverside. The brand’s Nocatee Town Center location at 641 Crosswater Parkway remains open.
The St. Johns Town Center location closed in March 2024 when its lease expired, according to Matthew Medure. That space is now occupied by Shake Shack.
The original Atlantic Beach location closed in September 2021 due to staffing challenges, while the Riverside storefront closed in December 2019 to make way for Another Broken Egg Cafe.
Other Medure Brothers concepts include Matthew’s, Restaurant Medure, Rue Saint-Marc, Midtown Table, Saleya Riviera Cafe, M Brothers and Zest.
