Aldi sets opening dates for Downtown, East Arlington stores

The locations open in June and July, bringing the Germany-based discount grocer to 17 in the Jacksonville market.

Aldi announced June 4 it will open three stores Downtown and in East Arlington in June and July, bringing its Jacksonville store count to 17.

The openings are converted Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarket locations.

The new locations and opening dates are: 

• June 18: 777 N. Market St, Downtown, a converted Harveys Supermarket.

• June 25: 1531 Monument Road, at St. Johns Bluff Road, a converted Winn-Dixie.

• July 2: 12777 Atlantic Blvd., near Girvin Road, a converted Winn-Dixie.

Aldi said ribbon-cutting ceremonies will be held at 8:45 a.m. at each store on their opening day. The first 200 customers at each location will receive a gift bag with a sampling of Aldi products and a gift card.

The three stores will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

“At our newest Jacksonville ALDI stores, customers will see why so many already choose ALDI for their weekly grocery shopping,” said JR Perry, regional vice president for Aldi, in a news release.

Germany-based  discount grocer Aldi said the openings bring it closer to its goal of 3,200 U.S. stores by the end of 2028.

In the new stores, Aldi said shoppers  can expect:

• Aldi-exclusive products. Nearly 90% of items on the store’s shelves are exclusive brands.

• Organic meats, fresh produce, seafood, cheese and wine selections.

• A “curated grocery selection” of “exactly what shoppers need at the best prices in the market.”

• Aldi “Finds” of weekly trend and seasonal items. The rotating selection ranges from foods and lifestyle goods to home decor and pet accessories.
