Prospect Five Points Bar and Restaurant will close June 28, according to a social media announcement.
“Business has been rough this last year, and we have done all we could to stay open,” read a June 9 post on the establishment’s Facebook page. “With the slow season coming, unfortunately, we are unable to do so.”
The bar and restaurant is at 1521 Margaret St. It is near the former Mossfire Grill at 1573 Margaret St. , which closed in October 2025 after 27 years in operation.
Sheree Kentwell and Jon Choomchaiyo opened Prospect Five Points in the fall of 2020 after moving from Denver, where they were working restaurant jobs when the COVID-19 pandemic hit.

“It got to the point where dwe kind of just looked at each other and we said, we kind of have to do our own thing,” Kentwell told the Daily Record in 2020. “You know, we have to give this as best a shot as we can.”
Prospect’s building is the former home of several food and beverage operations, including Safe Harbor Seafood and Marah Brewing, Five Points Tavern and O’Brothers Irish Pub.
Its menu includes shareable plates, salads, flatbreads, entrees, desserts, wines, beers and cocktails.
In the post, the restaurant’s operators say they made the closure announcement to give diners another opportunity to visit Prospect.
“We appreciate, and love everyone who has been able to share in the wonderful experience that Prospect is, and has been,” the post reads.
The announcement suggests a going-away party for the establishment may be forthcoming.
“Prospect Five Points may be closing, but that doesn’t mean we have to close our doors quietly,” it said.
