Two Firestone Complete Auto Care stores are in the early planning stage in Nassau and St. Johns counties.
The Nassau County Development Review Committee discussed the proposed Yulee store June 23 as part of its preapplication process, where it provided guidance on accessibility, buffer and setback requirements.
Preapplication meetings precede formal site plan submittals.
In St. Johns County, a preapplication was submitted June 22, with the county’s Development Review Committee scheduled to discuss that project July 15.
The Yulee location is proposed for the Shoppes at Amelia Concourse, anchored by Target, The Home Depot and Petco at Florida 200 and Chester Road. Preliminary plans call for a 6,707-square-foot store.
The next step is for the developer to submit a binding site plan, which the DRC would review before recommending the project to the county departments that grant final approval.
Net Lease Alliance LLC, a real estate investment firm based in Montgomery, Alabama, owns the property through NLA Yulee LLC.
The 6,757-square-foot St. Johns County location is proposed at the Shops at Racetrack Road at Racetrack Road and St. Johns Parkway. Hunington Properties owns the shopping center through St. Johns at Racetrack LLC, except for the anchor space slated for Patel Brothers, an Indian grocery store.
Common Oak Engineering LLC of Orlando is the civil engineer for both projects.
The proposed Yulee store would be Firestone’s first in Nassau County.
The St. Johns project would give the company a second location in the county, joining a store open at 57 San Marco Ave. in St. Augustine.
As of June 4, parent company Bridgestone Americas listed more than 1,800 service centers nationwide on its website. In Northeast Florida, the site lists locations in Jacksonville, Orange Park and St. Augustine.
