A Ponte Vedra beach-front home owned by former Equifax Inc. CEO and Chairman Thomas F. Chapman sold June 15 for $13 million.
Ponte Vedra-based Robert B Baker Revocable Trust, which shares an address with R.B. Baker Holdings, bought the home at 133 Ponte Vedra Blvd., according to county records.
According to realtor.com, the 2,853-square-foot single-family home was built in 1964 on a half-acre lot. It has three bedrooms, four full bathrooms and a two-car garage.
Retired in 2005, Chapman is a Clemson alumnus who, according to the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business website, pitched two seasons as an All-ACC selection, played professionally for the Philadelphia Phillies and was deployed to Vietnam in 1968.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the university and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
Chapman and his wife, Karen, continue to support Clemson through the Thomas F. Chapman Leadership Scholars Program, which they founded in 2009. They also funded construction of the Thomas F. Chapman Grandstands at the university’s baseball stadium. Chapman received the Clemson Alumni Association’s Distinguished Service Award in 2010.
The Chapmans reside in Atlanta, according to Clemson.
Atlanta-based Equifax is one of the three largest credit reporting companies in the U.S., alongside TransUnion and Experian.
Among its services, the company compiles individual consumer financial data to generate credit reports and calculate credit scores, which are used by lenders and businesses to evaluate creditworthiness.
