Like many professional organizations, the Jacksonville Bar Association is strongest when its leadership takes the time to listen, understand its systems and strengthen connections across the legal community.
My focus during my first 90 days as executive director has been intentionally simple: listen, map and connect.
The first three months were not about rapid change, but about laying the foundation for the association’s newly adopted strategic plan. It is a plan that calls for the JBA to deliver career-changing experiences for members, operate as a high-performing organization, expand community partnerships and ensure long-term sustainability.
What has changed and why it matters
Strong member engagement begins with strong systems, clear governance and a shared sense of purpose. While much of this early work has happened behind the scenes, it directly supports:
Looking ahead
These early efforts were designed to stabilize, strengthen and align the association creating a platform for growth, innovation and expanded community impact to better serve our members. Our focus has been on creating stability and transparency today so we can deliver innovation and value tomorrow.
To the board of governors, past presidents, members, judges, civic and academic partners, peer voluntary Bar associations and media partners -— thank you again for your warm welcome and collaborative spirit.
The JBA and the legal community are strongest when we are united and can move forward together.
To our members, my goal is to create alignment, confidence and a Bar association you are proud to call your own.
If your membership has lapsed or you have not yet joined us, now is the time.
Join us and help share the future work of the JBA.
It is an honor to serve as executive director of the JBA and I am inspired, proud and grateful to our members who show commitment, dedication and leadership every day.
A special thank you to our committee members and our Young Lawyers Section. I am optimistic about what lies ahead.
