Shrimp Shack Seafood Kitchen has reopened at southeast Beach Boulevard and San Pablo Road after more than a year of renovations.
Those who ask the obvious: The longstanding customer favorite of a 30-piece shrimp meal with two sides is $14.99 on Tuesdays and Thursdays only. Other days, it is $21.
Customers filled the restaurant at 14440 Beach Blvd. at lunchtime May 14. An associate said the reopening was May 7.

The restaurant closed in 2024, with the city starting permit review for renovations late that year.
The city issued site, building, mechanical, fire and electrical permits starting in April 2025 that total a project cost of almost $923,000. The now 24-year-old restaurant had been gutted and rebuilt from a shell structure.
The city issued sign permits in December 2025.
The fast-food restaurant was built in 2002 as KFC. Shrimp Shack owners Nader and Fadi Abosini bought the Beach Boulevard property from KFC Corp. for $425,000 in November 2014.
The site is at Intracoastal Plaza anchored by Publix Super Markets Inc. Le Petit Paris French Cafe opened nearby in the space that was Hakka Kitchen, House of Leaf & Bean and originally a Taco Bell built in 1997.
MyShrimpShack.com had said the 14440 Beach Blvd. site was temporarily closed and under renovation, with a new look coming in 2025. There also is a drive-thru.

“At long last, our Jacksonville Beach location is finally back open for your dining pleasure,” the site says.
“We can’t wait to share the transformation of the location, and we think you’ll agree that it was worth the wait. We’ll start with a limited menu of our favorite fried dishes, but you’ll soon be able to devour all of the fresh seafood from our full menu.”
The site says the brothers, known as Nate and Fred Abosini, “found their recipe for success in Shrimp Shack.”
The first Shrimp Shack opened ifirst opened at 646 Blanding Blvd. in Orange Park.

“Our family has been in the seafood restaurant business for generations starting with our father’s first restaurant and market in the early nineties,” says the site.
“In 1996, our family opened our first seafood restaurant on the Westside of Jacksonville where we learned all about creating the perfect atmosphere with the right kind of service to enjoy fresh and delicious seafood,” it says.
“When we set off to start our own place, we knew we could offer the same level of service and quality of a sit-down restaurant, but in a faster, more approachable environment. In 2010, we opened the first Shrimp Shack in Orange Park, Florida.”
