The 92-year-old Jacksonville-based family business will continue to provide pest control and lawn care services.
Global consumer and commercial services company Rollins Inc. and Northwest Exterminating Co. announced Jan. 14 that Jacksonville-based McCall Service merged into the Rollins family of brands.
McCall will join Northwest to create a Southeast-focused, regional platform pest control business, according to news releases posted on Pest Control Technology’s website, pctonline.com, and on the Pest Management Professionals website, mypmp.net.
Bryan Cooksey III, the second generation of his family that owned and operated McCall, did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The releases state that Josh Cooksey, the third generation in the business, will continue to be general manager.
“With the support that our partnership with Rollins and Northwest offers McCall, I look forward to remaining focused on the overall growth and success of each teammate and looking for opportunities to better serve our customers for years to come,” Cooksey said.
McCall Service was founded in 1928. It has service centers in North and Central Florida and South Georgia and provides pest control and lawn care services to commercial and residential clients.
In 2020, McCall Service acquired Savannah Termite and Pest, expanding its operations to Savannah, Georgia, and part of South Carolina.
Bug Bouncers Termite and Pest in Tampa, Orlando and Sarasota also joined McCall in 2020, along with First Coast Wildlife and Expel, creating the McCall Service wildlife division.
Marietta, Georgia-based Northwest Exterminating was founded in 1951 by L.A. Phillips and his wife, Emma Lene Phillips.
When Rollins acquired Northwest in 2017, the Phillips family and the entire management team remained with the company.
“McCall has an incredible reputation in our industry and with their customers. We are grateful McCall chose to trust Northwest as a partner in growth moving forward and for the opportunities ahead for both brands,” stated Stanford Phillips, Rollins Division vice president.
The service territory of the combined operations comprises Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, North Carolina and South Carolina.
