Indoor galleries and exhibits at the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens will reopen to the public July 21, with some changes because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“In order to prioritize the health of our visitors and our staff, and to minimize touch points and onsite capacity, everyone is required to reserve a timed ticket in advance,” according to an email from the museum’s marketing department.

Tickets will be issued in two-hour increments and are limited per time period to accommodate social distancing. Availability is updated each Monday.

The link to register for admission is available on the home page at cummermuseum.org.

Timed tickets also are required when the museum offers free admission for active duty military personnel and their families 11 a.m.-4 p.m. July 25 and noon-4 p.m. July 26.

The first phase of reopening, in June, included the gardens along the St. Johns River that were restored after Hurricane Irma and also limited food and beverage service in the Cummer Cafe. The cafe will reopen Aug. 1 with the full menu and reduced seating capacity.

The museum, at 829 Riverside Ave., has implemented safety measures including routes directing the flow of movement to support social distancing, hand sanitizer stations throughout the campus, transparent shields at the front desk area, and expanded daily cleaning and sanitation policies for common areas and surfaces.
Museum staff, members and guests are required to wear face masks.
