With the work-from-home order lifted, Stein Mart will reopen its corporate office on the Southbank Downtown on May 26, the day after the Memorial Day holiday.

“The health and safety of our associates and customers is our top priority, and by working together we can open safely and operate effectively,” said Hunt Hawkins, Stein Mart CEO, in an email.

About half of the 340-member corporate staff will return to the office May 26. The remainder will be working some days in the office and some days at home, said Linda Tasseff, Stein Mart director of external communications and investor relations.

The seating configuration will maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet, as well as in conference rooms and elevators.

Employees and on-site consultants will be required to complete a daily self-screening questionnaire, perform temperature checks before coming to work and wear a face mask.

Employees at high risk, as defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; who live with a first responder; are a caregiver for high-risk individuals; or whose workstation does not meet social distancing or other situations will be permitted to continue to work from home.
