The University of North Florida’s Department of Art and Design Sculpture Program is the featured exhibitor in the Sky Gallery at Jacksonville International Airport, through April 30.

Sculptures created by UNF students are on display in the Sky Gallery, along with posters featuring maquettes – small models – of this year’s large-scale student sculptures currently on exhibit at the UNF Seaside Sculpture Park at 480 First Street S. in Jacksonville Beach.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to present their pieces of art for public enjoyment,” Aisling McDonald, instructor at UNF’s Sculpture Program, said in a Feb. 5 news release.

“The sculptures help build an appreciation of art as well as foster creative and critical thought.”

The Sky Gallery is located pre-security and next to the Haskell Gallery in the airport’s central courtyard. The exhibit is open to the public 5 a.m. to midnight daily. Sculptures from last year’s exhibition at the UNF Seaside Sculpture Park are currently being auctioned with proceeds benefiting the UNF Sculpture Program.
