Chipotle Mexican Grill in St. Augustine received a building permit April 20 for a $650,000 project on an outparcel at a Walmart Supercenter under construction in World Commerce Center.
The shopping complex is at 150 Foundry Lane about 2 miles west of Buc-ee’s, Costco and Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World at World Commerce Center.
Duffey Southeast Construction Inc., headquartered in Cedartown, Georgia, is the contractor for the 2,300-square-foot restaurant.
St. Johns County began reviewing the project in October 2025.
The World Commerce Center location would be Chipotle’s fourth in the county.
The company opened a restaurant at 4285 U.S. 1 S. in late 2025 and another in the Beachwalk community in June 2025. The first Chipotle in St. Augustine, at 1753 U.S. 1 S., opened in 2021.

A Panda Express Chinese Kitchen also is planned for the World Commerce Center on Outparcel 2D. The 2,614-square-foot restaurant was issued a building permit by St. Johns County at project cost of $1 million March 11.
The contractor is Tampa-based QDI Construction.
The restaurant would be the third Panda Express in the county.
A location at 575 Beachwalk Shore Drive, opened in December 2025, and one at 4285 U.S. 1 has operated since 2012.

Chipotle and Panda Express join a planned tenant list near the Walmart Supercenter that includes Chase Bank, Chick-fil-A, Dutch Bros, Wells Fargo Bank and White Castle.
Walmart also plans a fueling station at the site, according to county documents.
Opening dates for the Walmart Supercenter and other projects have not been announced.
