Ricky Erixton, JEA’s chief electric systems officer, was named the vice president of the Florida Municipal Electric Association board in a July 15 board vote, JEA announced in a news release.
FMEA is the statewide trade association representing Florida’s 33 publicly-owned power utilities, which service more than 4 million customers. It lobbies for members’ interests on state and federal issues, provides emergency response and mutual aid coordination, provides education and training for members and provides members with industry news and information.
“I am honored by the confidence my colleagues have placed in me to serve in this leadership role,” Erixton said in the JEA release. “I look forward to working with my fellow officers and board members to build on the association’s strong foundation, advance our shared priorities and continue delivering value to the members and communities we serve.”
Erixton began his career at JEA in 1989 in a co-op role before joining the utility full-time two years later. He became chief electric systems officer in January 2025.
