Republic National Distributing Co. sold its North Jacksonville warehouse for $12.1 million May 29 as part of a multistate beverage distribution deal.
Republic sold the property at 9423 N. Main St. through Loan Oak - Jacksonville LLC to Reyes Holdings LLC of Rosemont, Illinois.
The warehouse is north of Gun Club Road, south of Van Dyck Road and west of Parker Avenue.
The 177,239 square-foot building was constructed on 10 acres in 1972. The single-story building has an average height of 26 feet.
Before the transaction, it last sold for $6.7 million in 2007.
Reyes Holdings is a multibillion-dollar private food and beverage conglomerate with three primary subsidiaries, according to its website.
Subsidiary Reyes Beverage Group made the purchase. It identifies itself as one of the largest beer distributors in the U.S., with 240,000 accounts.
According to a release on the Republic site, the transaction involved 11 Republic markets: Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Maryland, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. The transaction in Hawaii is pending, subject to regulatory approvals.
Neither that release nor a similar one on the Reyes Beverage Group site listed the total amount of the multistate transaction.
The Republic National Distributing Co. website says it is one of the nation’s leading wholesale beverage alcohol distributors. It specializes in wine and spirits.
In April, the Daily Record reported that Republic filed a federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification that it was closing the facility, affecting 169 jobs.
The same notice stated that Reyes Holdings planned to offer employment to some of the workers.
Reyes is buying other Republic operation facilities in Florida. Those facilities are in Deerfield Beach, Pensacola and Tampa, affecting a total of 1,046 Florida employees.
