True Storage to convert Walgreen Road building

The Brentwood-area property previously was a charter school.

True Storage Jacksonville intends to redevelop a former charter school site at 4751 Walgreen Road into a two-level, climate-controlled storage center.

The city is reviewing a permit application for Contractor Construction LLC of Manchester, New Hampshire, to remodel two buildings totaling a proposed 65,298 square feet at an estimated construction cost of $1.5 million.

The property in the Brentwood and Norwood area, most recently was the SALTech School for Accelerated Learning and Technologies charter high school.

Four LLCs bought the 6-acre property for $3.25 million on Sept. 10, 2021, from AEP Charter SALTech LLC of Portland, Oregon.

The TrueStorage.com site says the project is coming soon.

True Storage, a national self-storage developer based in Manchester, says on the site that it produces premium Class A storage space through conversions and new construction. 

“Through partnerships with national self-storage companies, the facilities are managed and operated, meeting customer and community expectations for quality and service,” it said.

It partners with CubeSmart, for example.
