Whit’s Frozen Custard of Kernan Square registered a fictitious name with the state May 4.
Seaside Custard LLC filed the name to do business as Whit’s Frozen Custard at 12620 Beach Blvd., No. 20.
The LLC is owned by Michael and Jessica McKinley.
The whitscustard.com site says the location is opening soon to “offer our community a taste of happiness ... making our freshly made frozen custard every day, all day.”
Whit’s existing area locations are in Avondale, Atlantic Beach, Jacksonville Beach, Mandarin, Orange Park, South Jacksonville in the Shoppes of Bayard, and at World Golf Village in St. Augustine.
The city issued a permit for an interior remodel of the 1,650-square-foot Starbucks at 4804 Deer Lake Drive W. in Tapestry Park at a cost of $254,839.
Venture Construction Co. of Tampa is the contractor.
St. Johns County is reviewing a permit for development of a 2,600-square-foot Starbucks with a drive-thru south of Race Track Road and west of County Road 2209 at Durbin Creek Crossing.
The St. Johns River Water Management District also has been reviewing a permit application.
