The city issued a permit Oct. 3 for MDM Services Inc. to build a Camel Premium Express Car Wash at northwest Southside and Atlantic boulevards in the Regency area of Arlington.

The 3,500-square-foot tunnel wash will be built on 1.11 acres at 110 Southside Blvd., next to the Circle K recently developed there.

The corner is where the former Coggin Pontiac structure was demolished.

City utility JEA bought the 5.09-acre parcel for $3.24 million in 2011 for construction and pipeline installation and to stage equipment for area work.

JEA sold the property to Circle K Stores Inc., the Tempe, Arizona-based international convenience store chain, for $3.15 million in May 2021.

Circle K built a convenience store and gas station on the southern part with the car wash site to the north of it.

Plans show Circle K on 2.87 acres and Camel is on 1.11 acres.

Camel Premium Express Car Wash has five locations in Northeast Florida.

Magnolia Wash Holdings, based in Morrisville, North Carolina, is the developer.
