National off-price retailer Burlington Stores Inc. announced it will open Nov. 3 in Argyle Village Shopping Center at 6001-24 Argyle Forest Blvd.

The ribbon-cutting is scheduled for 7:45 a.m. with a $5,000 donation to the teachers at Grove Park Elementary School in Orange Park.

There will be giveaways as supplies last over the weekend.

Store hours will be 9 a.m.-11 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 9 a.m.-midnight Friday-Saturday.

Burlington said the store is relocating from 6000 Lake Gray Blvd. in Westland Park Plaza, about a mile from the Argyle Village location.

“Our goal is to continue to offer communities low prices on brand name merchandise for the entire family and home,” said Burlington Stores CEO Michael O’Sullivan.

Burlington says it sells merchandise at up to 60% off other retailers’ prices.

The company has 933 stores in 46 states and Puerto Rico, principally under the name Burlington Stores.

In Argyle, Burlington will replace home goods retailer Bed Bath & Beyond Inc., which has been liquidating under Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

The city issued a permit Sept. 21 for Burlington in 25,887 square feet of space there at a project cost of $838,000.

Burlington, based in Burlington, New Jersey, sells clothing and accessories for men, women, children and babies and also sells home goods and, reflecting its former name, coats. It was long known as Burlington Coat Factory.

Burlington has five area stores in Argyle Village Shopping Center, Regency Plaza, Old St Augustine Plaza, River City Marketplace and Saint Johns.

Burlington also will open in the fall at 5258-11 Norwood Ave. in Gateway Town Center in the Brentwood area.
